The Art of Seduction
"They" say that "all is fair in love and war." That is an old adage that
implies that the rules of fair play go out the window in either situation.
It's hard to tell whether seduction is love or war but maybe it just doesn't
matter. It is also hard to determine whether successful seduction is an art
form or a God given ability.
Have you ever noticed that among the people that you know, it is not necessarily
the most handsome man or the most beautiful woman who is the most successful
at seduction? It is true.
You've probably looked around a crowded room and seen a rather plain looking
guy holding the full and undivided attention of the most attractive woman
in the room. There she is; tossing her hair, laughing and touching his arm
in a very intimate manner. You can look in another direction and see the
most handsome man in the room giving his full attention to a woman who is
most certainly not the most beautiful woman in the room. He is leaning toward
her and paying rapt attention to what she is saying. He has his gut drawn
in, his shoulders squared and is very obviously responding to her.
First let me assure you that all really is not fair in love (I'll reserve
judgment about war). Drugs and alcohol are not fair. The use of either for
the purpose of seduction is not only out of bounds but borders on criminal.
Men and women approach seduction in two very different ways. The objective
is the same but the techniques applied to getting there are very different
and yet there are commonalities.
There are three main ingredients for those who want to be successful at
seduction. None of these three ingredients can be faked but some of them
techniques can be honed. The three main ingredients are:
1. Self confidence
2. Sense of humor
3. Non-predatory aura
Men and women who are successful at the 'art' of seduction exude self confidence.
They do not appear to be weak or out of control of themselves or their emotions.
There is just something about liking yourself and real (not fake) self confidence
that has an appeal to the opposite sex. Each give off an aura of benevolent
control over the world around them.
Another commonality between men and women who are very successful at seduction
is that they have a sense of humor. They are not the loud-mouths who take
center stage at an event and tell off-color jokes. They do, however, have
a sense of humor that allows them to find the 'funny' in everyday situations.
They don't need inspiration to be humorous.
A strange thing is that other men enjoy the company of a man who is successful
at seduction and other women enjoy the company of a woman who is successful
at seduction. Other members of their own sex do not usually regard them as
threatening. Why do you suppose this is true? It is because they come off
as non-threatening. They are confident and yet they are not predatory.
