Dating On The Run - Mobile Dating
Offline dating, online dating, speed dating - and now mobile dating? Technology
gives us something new all the time, and now they have given us mobile dating.
We used online dating to find matches that we might not have found otherwise,
and to make time for dating when we couldn't find the time to meet people
offline. Eventually, we had speed dating, where you could ask a person questions
for a certain length of time, and possibly find someone you were interested
in getting to know better. Today, everyone has a cell phone, a PDA, or another
type of mobile device, and this is a new way to find the love of your life.
In fact, mobile dating has done more than just help people find love, it
has also prompted people who have never had an interest in mobile devices
to take a new look at these types of devices - for the sole purpose of finding
love. Mobile dating is going on all around the world. In fact, in Japan,
mobile dating has become even more popular than online dating!
Online dating services are quickly getting in on this new technology, and
the interest it has generated among singles looking for love as well. Now,
many online dating services offer their members the ability to search profiles
and meet each other with their cell phones and PDA's. Mobile dating goes
even further, allowing you to search for other people by zip code, so that
you can quickly and easily find people near you to communicate with, and
possibly meet in person for a date.
To get in on mobile dating, you will of course need a mobile device, and
service for that device. To find a mobile dating service, you will need an
email address, and a picture of yourself. You can even use videos of yourself.
After subscribing to the mobile dating service, you create a profile, just
as you would with online dating, state what you are looking for in a partner,
and then let the mobile dating service find matches for you. When matches
are found, you receive a text message from the service.
At that point, you can correspond with your potential matches, using your
mobile device, to send text messages. You send text messages back and forth,
send photos, and even live videos, using the technology that is already a
part of your mobile device. You may eventually trade cell phone numbers,
and agree to meet in person.
Singles everywhere are finding that mobile dating is more convenient than
online dating, because you can participate in mobile dating all the time
- not just when you are home and on the Internet. You can do mobile dating
at work (don't get caught), on your lunch hour, while running errands, or
even while shopping for groceries. You can even do mobile dating while you
are on a date with someone else - simply because it goes with you wherever
you go.
The only downside of mobile dating is that it can get very costly. Some services
may charge flat fees, and most have usage plans, that will limit the number
of text messages you can send, with you being charged extra for additional
messages. You also need to figure out what alot of the messages mean, when
you are new to mobile dating, because since the text messages are typed with
one or two finders on the very small keypad of a cell phone of PDA, people
use abbreviations alot.
